I played for clubs in Brazil, Poland, Romania and USA, and I also played games in Uruguay and Turkey.
What special memories do you have from your playing career? Have you played with or against any particularly special players?
I have two moments that were special in my career. First was playing for the team that I supported my whole life (Paraná Clube) and being State cup champions playing in front of 35,000 people at the age of 20 in 2006. The second was in Romania playing in the 1st division against the Steaua Bucharest team that won the Champions League in 1986.
I played against Rafinha (Bayern Munich), Miranda (Atlético Madrid, Inter Milan), Alex (Fenerbahce), Lincoln (Schalke 04) and I played with Mariano (Sevilla) and Danilo Silva (Dynamo Kyiv, LAFC) .
What is your favorite thing about coaching?
Soccer is my passion, soccer is my life and soccer gave me everything that I have in my life. My favorite part of coaching is sharing everything that I’ve learned during these 17 yeas of playing professional soccer. Nothing gives me more happiness than when my Baltimore Celtic 2008 Predators win a game! Seeing the improvement and the impact that I can create in their lives is priceless!
What is your favorite thing about being a part of Baltimore Celtic?
My favorite thing is that I’m working for the club with the most National Championships and most college coaches in the state. The club has the best staff in the state and working for Carl Delmont is always fantastic. I’m proud to be a Celtic coach!
What is your advice to young players that want to reach their full potential?
My advice is work hard! As hard you can. When others are playing video games, you are practicing; when others are watching TV, you are practicing! Soccer is meant to be played every day! Don’t take days off! If you truly love this sport play it every day with passion!
